Rolf Is a Nazi

I'm a fan of the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical The Sound of Music, and I once asked some friends and colleagues from Song Fight! if they'd like to perform the songs on the soundtrack for this little tribute album. They agreed, and here are the songs.

Octothorpe - The Sound of Music

Octothorpe contributed the first track of the compilation, with very much trademark Octothorpe production.

15-16 puzzle - Maria

Austinian 15-16 puzzle contributed track two, a great performance of "Maria." Listen for the frightening cackle.

Glenn Case - I Have Confidence

Glenn Case threw together this track for me and I'm glad he did. You just won't believe that last note.

BJAM - My Favorite Things

Out of Scotland via Pennsylvania is chanteuse Bethany, here discussing brown paper packages, whiskers on kittens, and other such joyful accoutrements.

Jim of Seattle - Climb Ev'ry Mountain

Jim of Seattle, from Seattle, did a fun keyboard, Broadway kind of deal to Climb Ev'ry Mountain, a track I didn't think so highly of from the film. But it's definitely worth listening to here.

High Density - The Lonely Goatherd

Absolutely Song Fight!'s most divine twofer High Density, a project of Future Boy and mob01d, does a suitably adorable electronic rendition of the play-within-a-play.

Ken and the New Incredibles - Do Re Mi

Ken and the New Incredibles performed this faithful, twee adaptation of one of the most popular songs of the work. It'll get the hipsters tapping they toes.

The White Hat - Edelweiss

Guitar virtuoso The White Hat found fit to perform this classic for us. It's a very beautiful performance.

Johnny Cashpoint - So Long, Farewell

Ending the thing on the upbeat is Johnny Cashpoint. His "So Long, Farewell" is more fun than a barrel of Nazis, and that's the truth.
