Performances of others' songs, or others performing my songs.

1645 Medley

One day, in preparation for a home concert, the band and I considered covering that classic "Stay." While practicing it I started singing the words to "Earth Angel," which has the same progression, I-vi-IV-V. It snowballed on from there, and then on May 18, 2006, we finally got around to recording it, adding "Please Mr. Postman" and "Runaround Sue" to the medley, which features "Duke of Earl," "Heart and Soul," the theme to Gummi Bears, "In the Still of the Night," "Teenager in Love," and "Every Breath You Take" beside.

After Hours

This is a Velvet Underground track, written by Lou Reed, originally appearing on their self-titled album, sang by Moe Tucker. It's about the cutest, and here's me trying to perform it.

Bullseye Girl

In 2005, Octothorpe's gear was stolen, and Johnny Cashpoint of the Song Fight! community organized a little online festival to raise their spirits. Several months later I recorded this. I'd say better late than never, but with my music it's a toss-up. No, seriously, I think I did justice to this track, which is one of my favorite Octothorpe songs.

Caravan Ray - Moscow, Idaho

For another one of those Cover Fight! events, in which Song Fight! artists cover each others' songs, Caravan Ray got me and was asked to render my track "Moscow, Idaho." He came up with this fun dance pop number.

Cut Your Hair

An entry for the annual Gift of Music project, wherein Song Fight! artists write up a list of four songs they'd like to hear covers of, and then others perform one of them. It's kind of like a musical, cover-based, pick-one-of-four-gifts Secret Santa. Anyway this is a Pavement cover. I did what I could.

Darkmage - Look Good in Black

Darkmage and some friend of his decided to cover this classic of mine one day.

Don't Let the Sun Go Down On Me

The band, Theophilus Monk, and I threw this together as a B-side to the 1645 Medley. It's an Elton John track, natch.

Is It Cold?

This is a cover of an Octothorpe track, which was written for Song Fight!. I decided to cover it because I was going to perform at Octothorpe's head honcho's 50th birthday party. And I did. And it rocked.

John Benjamin Band - Look Good in Black

For one of the Cover Fight! events, in which "Song Fight! artists cover each others' songs, the John Benjamin Band performed a new arrangement of my song "Look Good in Black." It's very catchy, and almost certainly superior to my original.

King Arthur - Let's Go Boy

Song Fight! artist and all-around good guy King Arthur covered my track "Let's Go Boy" out of nowhere one day. As is often the case his version's better'n mine.

Say Yes

I recorded this with my friend Ann; she plays the sole guitar part and sings lead vocals with me. It was commissioned for the 2006 Gift of Music.
